THAW (The Heat and Warmth) Fund, is an agency that provides low income individuals and families throughout Michigan with emergency assistance and advocates for long term solutions to energy issues. ACCU-READ is the primary meter reading contractor for DTE. ACCU-READ’s employees were energized to make a pledge for every meter read by the company on a specified day. This challenge lead to a donation to THAW by the company of $10,800 after matching corporate funds.
