We go way back. Our roots go back to 1952 with the founding of the Barfield Building Maintenance Company. In 1985 the Founder and President Jerry Davis, Jr., acquired Barfield Building Maintenance Company and thus UNIBAR Maintenance Services, Inc. began. UNIBAR has continued to grow and expand its service capabilities. UNIBAR's current customer list includes the following:

Our employees are our biggest asset. We now have over 700 carefully screened, trained, full-time employees, where over half have been with us for seven years or more. Once employed, employees receive very competitive packages with managed incentives that have allowed us to exceed industry norms for employee retention, absenteeism, and absence of theft incidents consistently since our beginnings.

Great management is a key ingredient. UNIBAR's management personally oversees each job site. Our Executive Management Team are Certified Building Service Executives (CBSE) and Operations Managers are Registered Building Service Managers (RBSM) or pursuing training for these recognized certification, earned through accreditation by the maintenance industry trade association, Building Service Contractors International (BSCAI). G. Jean Davis, President and CEO Under the direction of our President and CEO, Mrs. G. Jean Davis, UNIBAR Maintenance Services has grown to be one of the most successful minority owned service companies in the United States. Following her leadership, UNIBAR and its managers are setting standards of professional competence and service excellence that will assure you of the value of our services.

John J. McManus, COO Mr. John J. McManus currently serves on the BSCAI Board of Directors, as well as on four of its committees. He is also the founder of the Affiliated Building Services Contractors of Michigan (ABSCM). He formed this statewide industry trade association with the intent of improving the industries level of professionalism, integrity, and knowledge of building service contractors throughout the state.

Local Support

Our decentralized operations department ensures superior service, wherever your facilities are located. Our regional operations managers maintain regular customer contact on a weekly or daily basis, as your requirements dictate. All of our operations managers have extensive real-world experience and are Registered Building Service Managers (RBSM) or pursuing training to receive these certifications.
